I made this for the DQ Oct 2012 challenge. The challenge was to make a quilted anything using srtips. This is a lovely pattern and I have made it a few times before. This time though I quilted it. Previously I had not quilted the strip pieced fabric.
Here is the link from where I got the pattern.

Here is another picture of an earlier one I made.

One more I did using strips.
For this one I added a zip

The fabric is all scraps of Jaipur prints.

Cathedral Windows Sampler Quilt Along

I have joined this Cathedral Window Sampler Quilt Along. Each few days one quilter will post her version of this block. I will be using scraps from my stash and make these blocks. I am looking forward to do this along with so many others.

Cathedral Window Sampler QAL

When I found this 'Cathedral Window Sampler Quilt Along' I joined it so I could make a quilt quickly. Every few days one of the designers will post their Cathedral Window block and we will have 9 quilts throughout October.
Here is where I found this.

Here is first my completed block.

 Another view

Now to make the second one which I just saw. A little bit daunting but lets see how it turns out to be.

Turned out to be easier than I thought. Looks good but  a bit of too many short stitching lines for my liking

Third block called Modern Cathedral Window Block
It was very lovely to make and turned out to be good looking block

4th Block called Opposing Waves. Not to my liking at all. The block called for one side to be cut on the bias but somehow I just could not follow the instructions after the bias cut so I just had a straight edge and made the block.

This is the 5th block called Feathered Cathedral Window Block. Easy and lovely to make.

This is the 6th block
This was fun to make and easy too.

This is the 7th block
Some plain fabric would have been better I think.

This is the 8th block.
Very confusing but finally got it. Too many layers in certain places.

This is the 9th block
Easiest one with a lot of potential for variations.

Now to join all these to make a small quilt........

Here is the picture of the joined blocks.

IMQG March 2012 challenge

Here are the things I made for the IMQG challenge on FB. The challenge was to use 2 Fat Quarters which is fabric measuring 22" X 18" one solid and the other print. There were so many possibilities and so little time that I chose randomly and came up with these.
 1. Double sided place mat with a pocket for spoon and fork and a napkin.
The other side of the table mat
Two gift bags with 3 pockets each
Close up of the machining (quilting but there is no batting inside)
Bag with 3 different things in the 3 pockets
 Ruffled summer scarf
Project Bag (inside with the solid FQ) I forgot to cut a strip for the handles so the satin ribbon for the handles.

Few of my counted cross stitch pictures

There was a time when I was hooked on cross stitch. I did only that for a year or so. Here is the collection of what I did. A few were given away as gifts and so I don't have pictures of those, a couple are very big and I need help taking pictures so they will come later.
I enjoyed it very much and embroidery thread was the only crafty thing available in Dahanu those days. That too if I wanted a colour or shade that the shop did not stock, I had to order it and buy the whole box of 25 skiens. I am using those skiens even now, after almost 20 years.
This is the wall hanging showing a farmer doing his chores according to the seasons. As my DH is a farmer I thought something like this has to be the focal point in our home somewhere.

Close up of various parts of the wall hanging.

Resting after the bumper (I wish) crop.

This is suppposed to be either a cushion or a frame in a child's room but it is not completed. Someone borrowed my book and have not returned it. Now either I complete it as I feel correct or leave it unfinished.

This one and another one (which was gifted to my friend) was from Madura Coats magazine, gifted to me as a special prize in an all India embroidery competition I had entered. I had drawn and embroidered a lady walking in the snow. I gifted that frame to my daughter's friend.

 The Tea Rose

These are the sun signs. The ones that my daughters have taken away as gifts for their friends are missing.

This is one of my favourite themes to embroider. It is a picture showing all seasons. The main picture remains the same. Here it is a lady in a garden. But the colours/flowers/fruits in all four are different according to the season  This one is SUMMER

This one is for the dining room a basket full of Veggies.

My Camera Bag

Here is a bag I like to make very often It is very simple bag to make and can be made with many variations. I made this for the IMQG January 2012 challenge. We had to use Warm Solids and make something. I thought of making many things but I had only a few days to complete. I started this today in the morning and completed it by about 12 noon. Cutting and piecing took most of the time.
